ABOUT OUR CHURCH

Redwood Christian Center is celebrating its 66th anniversary. Bro. Richard Reneau began this church in 1958, in Rio Dell, California, but after a short time felt led to move his congregation to Eureka  The church outgrew its first building (which is now our dining hall) and so the need for a new addition. The sanctuary was built in 1969. After a time, Bro. Reneau felt led of the Lord to continue his ministry in another location. He resided in Sarasota, Florida for a number of years. The Lord called this pioneer home on October 6, 2013.

Dewey Davis then became the new pastor and served for a total of fifty years. During this time a new addition was added on to the church. This greatly enhanced the accommodations needed for all the activities of the church and prepared us for the growth that is still now happening. During this time we saw many souls saved, many baptized in water and filled with the Holy Spirit. Also, many weddings and funerals for those who went ahead of us. It was a glorious time.

In April of 1994 the church was able to purchase the Stafford RV Park, just 30 miles south of Eureka. This was an 18 acre piece of land set up for RVs, tenters, and cabin dwellers. Each summer we enjoyed a large family camp gathering of ministers from all over California, Oregon, Washington, and as far east as Missouri and Texas. The family camps were awesome. A great time of refreshing for all where we received new strength and vision for the days ahead. Also, many youth camps and children's activities were provided. A tremendous blessing to many far and near. This was, and still is, one of the greatest highlights of our ministry here in California. On December 31, 2022, Pastor Dewey resigned the church, and then on January 31. 2023 he went home to be with the Lord. He had run his race, he had finished his course.

In November of 2021, while Pastor Dewey was still pastor, the Lord blessed us with the addition of assistant pastors - John and Stephanie Sampson. The Sampson family attended this church when John was just a teenager. Pastor Dewey always felt that sometime John would become part of the leadership in this church as he saw God's anointing on his life. John is now in his fifties, has a grown family, and is here with his lovely wife, Stephanie. John attended Rhema Bible College and is a wonderful teacher in the Word of God. His ministry and vision is a great blessing to Redwood Christian Center.

On January 1, 2023 John and Stephanie became the new pastors of Redwood Christian Center. They are making great progress with many new families that are consistently being added. He has been a great blessing and the church is prospering under him. On January 31, 2023 the former pastor Dewey Davis went home to be with the Lord.

Redwood Christian Center is a Full Gospel Bible Believing Church. Our church is a growing group of believers who are committed to knowing God and making Him known. The church consists of more than a building or a denomination. It is people who have experienced the love of God.

We desire to meet the needs of everyone. Therefore, we have a Sunday School, including a nursery. Our teachers are Spirit filled, trained, enthusiastic and caring. We also have Children’s Church for the children and an active youth group.   On Thursdays we enjoy food and fellowship followed by great Bible Studies. And once each month, on the first Sunday of the month, we have an all-church pot-luck for fellowship and times of sharing with one another..

We trust this website will be a blessing to you. It is part of our outreach and will be updated continually. Keep watch for new messages and sermons from each of our staff. Check out all the departments and see what is happening in each. Any special meetings or activities will also be announced on this web site. May God bless you. And please, come and visit us soon.

The coming of the Lord is drawing nigh, and we desire to do all we can to spread the “Good News” of His great Salvation plan. We look forward to all that God has planned and is doing in our congregation, and we anticipate getting acquainted with you.

OUR VISION

Mark 16:15. “And He said unto them, Go ye into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature."

1. To reach Eureka with the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, and to make disciples of all men.

2. To send and support missionaries to carry the Gospel abroad.

3. To teach, in every age group, the foundational truths of God’s Word.

4. To create Spiritual Growth in every member by consistency in prayer, study of God’s Word and Witnessing.

5. To train and equip new workers, pastors, and teachers by means of study, and giving them an opportunity to preach, teach, and minister in the gifts.

6. To sum our vision up - it is: TO WIN - TO TEACH - TO TRAIN - TO SEND

ABC STEPS TO SALVATION

A. Acknowledge or admit that you are a sinner. Romans 3:23 says, “For all have sinned and come short of the Glory of God..” Romans 3:10 says, “There is none righteous, no, not one.” Romans 6:23 says, “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

B. Believe in your heart that the Lord Jesus Christ can save you from your sin by repenting, and asking for His forgiveness, and accepting Him into your heart and life. John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Acts 16:31, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved.” Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, But the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

C. Confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus Christ. I John 1:9, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” Romans 10:9-10. “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart; man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”

SINNER’S PRAYER

Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner. I repent of my sins and I ask you to forgive me. I repent of my wicked ways and I desire now to walk in your ways. Wash me and cleanse me with your blood which was shed on Calvary. Come into my heart and make me your child and fill me with your precious Holy Spirit. Help me from this day forward to live for you and confess you before men. Thank you for hearing me and cleansing me. Thank you for coming into my heart and making me your child. In Jesus Name, Amen.
